After recent changes in PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) act, SEBI has mandated all the mutual fund investors to link mutual funds with AADHAAR. The last date for the same is 31st March 2018.
You can link your Mutual Fund through individual AMC website or offline form submission to AMC. However, this process is very cumbersome.
A better option is to link Aadhaar to Mutual funds through RTA website. There are 4 RTAs and this post will cover on how to link Aadhaar through each of these RTAs.
- Link Mutual funds with Aadhaar through CAMS
CAMS services for around 15 mutual fund houses listed below. For investments made in any of these AMC’s Aadhaar can be linked through below route.

Step 1: Visit this link
Step 2: Enter your PAN, Choose a verification option (Mobile or Date of birth or email ID) and enter the value for verification option and click verify
Step 3: The screen will reload with additional options below, Select All mutual funds, Enter Aadhaar Number and Mobile number/email ID (anyone) as provided to Aadhaar.
Step 4: The screen will navigate to Aadhaar seeding screen where your Aadhaar number will be pre-populated and will be asked for OTP. Enter the OTP Pin that you received through Mobile/Email.
Step 5: Select the acknowledgment checkbox and click Submit button.
CAMS will validate with Aadhaar database and on successful validation will provide a thank you message.

To link Aadhaar for the mutual funds mentioned above please follow the below steps:
Step 1: Open this link
Step 2: Read the information to investors and select the check box to provide your consent.
Step 3: Enter your PAN number and click generate OTP.
Step 4: Enter the OTP that you received on your Mobile/email id linked with these mutual funds and click validate OTP button.
Step 5: The screen will load with all mutual funds with which you have folios, select all of them and enter your Aadhaar number and click submit
Step 6: KARVY will validate with Aadhaar database, on successful validation will display a success message.
Through Mobile SMS:
From your registered mobile number send an SMS to 9212993399 as shown below

- Link Mutual Funds with Aadhaar through Franklin Templeton Fund Services
For investments made on Franklin Templeton, mutual funds use the below steps to link your Aadhaar.
Step 1: Open this link
Step 2: Enter your PAN Number, Select one additional information question (Date of Birth, Pin Code, Last transaction amount) and provide the answer for it and click Next button.
Step 3: Enter the bank account number linked with mutual fund portfolio and click Next button.
Step 4: Enter the Aadhaar number and click submit.
Step 5: A message will be displayed as below “We have received your Aadhaar Number update request. Aadhaar number shall be linked to your account post successful validation with UIDAI”
There is no need to validate OTP to link Aadhaar with Franklin Templeton.
- Linking Mutual Funds with Aadhaar through Sundaram BNP Paribas Fund Services
For Mutual fund investments made with Sundaram MF and BNP Paribas MF, use the steps.
Step 1: Open this link
Step 2: Enter PAN, Email and Mobile number and click submit.
Step 3: Enter Aadhaar number, click Submit and follow the instructions.
Step 4: On successful validation, Aadhaar will be linked to your BNP Paribas/ Sundaram MFs.
Don’t forget to link mutual funds with Aadhaar before 31st March 2018 to avoid Folio freeze. Also please note that NRIs need not link their Aadhaar with mutual fund account.
